General League Rules & Guidelines

Each team upon their acceptance as an organization is in need of sending the commissioner the team's hometown, nickname, team colors, name of home arena, and its capacity.

In the offseason, teams will recruit players, who will be ranked on both their current ability and their future potential.

Team are also in need of creating their non-conference schedule. The amount of non-conference games will be set each season by the commissioner.

These rules will be revised when the time comes or when decisions have to be made, if I have missed anything or something needs clarification (which I'm sure it does since it's so short), then please let me know. I'll let you know exactly the rules on recruiting and schedule making when it comes down to that.

Make sure you follow the bold-faced print upon your arrival.

Also, if any of you guys can help and recruit some guys to join, certainly feel free.

I have finished making the avatars for those teams in the league, if you want me to change up the color scheme a little bit, feel free to tell me about it.

Recruiting: there is going to be a limitation of probably 5 (maybe 10 for the initial recruiting period) recruits that a team can recruit in a day. You would recruit players by just e-mailing me the name of the players and your pitch that you want to give to that player. More information will come out on that when I start out on Monday.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking there with how the first teams are being determined, but a lengthened recruiting period will determine the team's official rosters.

Alright cool, thanks for the reply. To clarify on the team question. Like how are we going to determine who is on our team now. Like cause they aren't real teams we don't have any Juniors and Seniors.

The initial teams will all be freshman that we recruit when we start on Monday (hopefully). I hope that helps?

I've posted the first 20 recruits for those of you that want to look at them and see which ones you wanna target come the recruiting period. Please, don't send me anything about recruiting them to play for you right now. You can just look around and see which ones you wanna target.

How it is going to be determined where the recruits go?

I have a certain points system set up based upon what your pitch is to the recruit and when the randomizer decides it's time for the recruit to pick a team he will go with the one that has the most points. Points are also awarded for how close to the recruits home you are, and when we get to it, prestige.

So are there going to be move recruits from certain parts of the country? What i am asking is would it make more sense to have a team on the coasts to get near more recruits?

Also are there going to be pre determined pitches to use for recruits?

It may help you a little bit to be on the coast, but there is also more competition out there. I know Iowa City really isn't the biggest hub for recruits, but a move out West or East really isn't entirely necessary. It really isn't worth too many points to be near a recruit as much as telling him he will start his 1st year, he will be your go-to guy, etc.

I can work on changing it up to allow different pitches to work better for different guys. I was just going to go with a straight across the board, "if you guarantee him this, you'll get this many points"

Yeah was just checking the recruits looks like TX is the place to be

As for pitches hmm the problem there is if u really want somebody then everybody will give him the same pitch and get the same # of points won't they?

Yeah, I guess your right there, I'll tweak it a little bit where certain pitches work differently for different players.

Hey Mickey, do you have any kind of timeline on whats gonna happen and when? No rush, just curious!

Yeah, I plan to start recruiting tomorrow night at 9 at night. The start to the season is still uncertain because I'm not sure how long recruiting will take.

Are you going to make a list of pitches or do we make them up on our own?

You make them up on your own. I have a list of general ones, but if there are new ones. I'll rate them on what they say. For my own recruits, I'm just giving an average amount of points (unless I guarantee them some good stuff) to make it fair for you guys.

Are we going to be seeing any other pitches other teams are making? Cause you know HS kids would be saying well so and so is offering me a starting spot.

Also for each team to have enough players aren't there going to have to be alot more recruits to?
